A new take on cloud computing...

This concept surely is interesting... There has been a lot of talk about cloud computing lately, but this is a slightly different approach.

The concept is basically that any unit you have (pc, phone, whatever) will have clone out in the cloud. This means that heavy processing tasks will be taken care of by the clone. This means that suddenly you will be able to do task that before was impossible to do on your unit. Think photoshopping on your iphone. But also imagine the perspectives here. Accelerating computing power accelerates innovation...

The Internet as a Sixth Human Sense

I have stumbled upon this article the last couple of days about MIT students who have built a solution involving a camera, a projector and an Internet enabled mobile phone. Through these devices a person can project relevant information on any type of surface, whenever it's needed. The solution it self is not really that interesting, but the vision certainly is. Accessing and utilizing the Internet whenever it's needed. The same vision is coming through one of my previous blog posts, where I described the vision about the Internet through a looking glass. Both of these visions lack one thing. In order for the Internet to operate as a Sixth sense for an individual, there should not be any interactions with physical objects, since a sense is personal. It's a private thing wheter you are utilizing it or not. Pulling up a device from your pocket, or projecting the information you need on a surface, is not really private. The vision is great but it should be taken further. What about a contact lense or or a pair of glasses as the media to provide the information you need, when you need it - just for you alone. This way every individual will be able to utilize a shared intelligence on an individual basis. A sixth sense.

Frederik Pohl is blogging!

How amazing is it when a man aged 89 starts to blog? How even more amazing is it when the exact same man names his blog www.thewaythefutureblogs.com - This is the works of Fredrik Pohl, the last writer alive from the golden age of Science Fiction. A man who says you can't really predict the future. All you can do is invent it. Also check out the interview Vice did with him.

The age of greed is over - This is a paradigm shift

The last couple of months there has been a lot of rumbling about this. A paradigm shift on how we look at the world is coming upon us. This paradigm shift is powered by two major factors: The financial crisis, and the inauguration of Barack Obama. The age of greed is over and the choise of the word Change couldn't have been more suitable. This briefing from Trendwatching.com narrows it down to this "Generation G is coming" Where G is not for Greed, but for Generosity. Excellent reading!

Why the best ideas is mostly the simplest ones.

This is not a world changing idea, but just a great example how the
most simple and stupid thing sometimes can make a great deal of sense.
Put a hole through it, and the functionality is increased. Simply
